How does cropping and resizing work?
For non-square photos, they're resized on the shortest dimension to 245 pixels, then center-cropped to 245 x 245 pixels. Square photos are only resized.
Can I preview my image after it's been resized and cropped?
Not currently, but we're working on this for an upcoming release. In the meantime, we recommend cropping and resizing to 245x245 pixels before uploading if you'd like complete control of your image composition.
When I upload one of my images to Photograzing, does Serious Eats own it?
Nope! When you upload one of your images to Photograzing, you give us non-exclusive rights to use your image on any Serious Eats site. When we do use your image, we promise to always include your credit and your link. More info
My submission has not been accepted. Why?
Our goal is to curate the most delicious and beautiful food photos on Photograzing, and submissions are accepted at our editors' discretion. We review and schedule submissions for publication daily. Because of the large number of submissions we receive, it may take up to 48 hours for accepted submissions to appear on Photograzing. We appreciate your patience! Submissions may be rejected by our editors for one or more of the following reasons:
- It did not meet our editorial threshhold for composition, exposure, focus, or other aesthetic reasons.
- The URL you provided didn't point to a link where the photo originally appeared.
- The submission is obviously commercial or otherwise spam-like. Our aim is that Serious Eats should provide a space for people to interact with our content and each other, and we frown on commercial entities passing themselves off as individuals.
If your photo did not make the cut, please do make sure to submit your next photo to us; we would love another chance to feature your work.
Is there a way to "favorite" images?
Not currently, but we're working on this for an upcoming release.
